H2O CERT ("H2O CERT," "we," "us," or "our") provides an online study and practice-exam tool for water and wastewater operator certification. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use h2ocert.com and our mobile app (the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have.
Account information. When you register, we collect your email address and, if you sign up with a password, a securely hashed version of it. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google. You may optionally add a display name to your profile.
Study activity. We store the quizzes and practice exams you take, your answers, scores, streaks, and progress over time, so you can track your results and resume where you left off.
Payment information. If you purchase Premium access, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number — we retain only a Stripe customer/subscription reference and your subscription status.
Support and feedback. If you contact us, report a bug, or flag a question, we collect what you submit (your message, and if applicable the page you were on and basic browser/device information) along with your account email, so we can investigate and respond.
Usage data. We keep basic records of your daily practice activity (such as how many questions you've answered) to enforce free-tier limits and to understand how the Service is used.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your study data or quiz history to advertise to you.
We share information only with the service providers that help us run H2O CERT, and only as needed for them to provide their service to us:
We do not sell, rent, or otherwise disclose your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
We use a session token to keep you signed in, which can remain valid for up to 90 days or until you sign out. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
We retain your account and study data for as long as your account is active, so your progress is there when you return. If you'd like your account and associated data deleted, contact us (see Section 9) and we will delete it, except where we're required to retain limited records (for example, payment records) for legal or accounting purposes.
You can review and update your profile information from the app. You can request a copy of your data, request corrections, or request deletion of your account at any time by emailing us. If you're located somewhere with specific data-protection rights (such as the EU/UK or certain U.S. states), those rights apply to you and we'll honor requests made under the applicable law.
H2O CERT is intended for adults preparing for a professional certification exam and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including access controls on our database and encrypted transmission of data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
